There’s no such thing as a ‘standard size trestle’

If I had a dollar for every time I ask for table dimensions and get the response “It’s a standard size trestle”…well, I’d be a millionaire J Trestle tables come in a minimum of at least nine different lengths & widths. To ensure we quote you for the right size of table linen for your event, we require the dimensions of the table. Also let us know if you are joining the tables or setting them individually as most of our table linens will come longer (3.6m) than your trestle table (1.8m-2.4m). By doing this we can save you some money on the overall event as you may not need as much table linen as you think! Who would think…a supplier trying to save YOU money!

Table length & width information will enable us to advise you as to how much fabric will or will not drape on the floor at the ends of the tables. We will be able to tell you if you will be able to see any ugly table legs on the sides or the ends and whether you need to book any table underlays as well.

Table width is also important in designing your table styling. If you are having share platters down the middle of the table we recommend minimum 90cm wide tables but ideal is 1.2m wide. A “standard” individual setting is 40cm deep which allows for a 30cm plate, a water glass and a wine glass.

A basic rule for working out a total table length is 4 guests each side of a 2.4m (or 8 foot) table and 3 guests each side of a 1.8m (or 6 foot) table.

Let us know if you have any questions in regards to what size of table will fit the look you are after and how we can help you achieve that Pinterest/Instagram dream look! I can’t promise that we wont roll our eyes if you tell us “It’s a standard size trestle”.
