The big question has been asked.
You’ve shared the exciting news with friends and family (and of course, on Instagram!)
And now, you’re ready to start planning!
Of course, one of the first things you need to lock in when you’re planning a wedding is the date… but for the most part, your venue’s availability plays a major role in determining the date of your nuptials.
With many venues booking up months and even years in advance, it’s important to start looking at wedding venues almost as soon as you’ve said “yes!”
Working with event stylists all around Australia, the Table Art team have seen their fair share of jaw-droppingly gorgeous event and wedding venues.
From unique warehouse spaces in inner-city Melbourne and stunning venues overlooking Sydney Harbour, to charming settings across Tasmania, we’ve provided table linen hire for all kinds of wedding themes.
In the early stages of planning a wedding? Whether you’re from Tassie, have family there, or simply love its natural beauty, pay attention!
This week, we’re sharing some of our favourite wedding venues in Tasmania, and how our table linen hire stylists, along with your wedding stylist, can help turn your dream wedding into reality.
How could we start this list with anything other than MONA?
The Museum of Old and New Art is one of Hobart and Tasmania’s most popular attractions, bringing in upwards of 360,000 visitors a year.
It’s the largest privately funded museum in the southern hemisphere, and as well as displaying a range of unique artwork and exhibitions, alsos plays host to a variety of events, including weddings.
The Museum itself offers a range of venue spaces, including:
Eros + Thanatos
This purpose-built function room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, showing off stunning lawn views.
The Source Restaurant
Boasting beautiful views over the Derwent River, The Source is known for its contemporary French menu and expansive wine list.
This totally unique space is located 13m underground, and is dominated by an impressive sandstone wall dating back to the Triassic period!
The Nolan Gallery
The Nolan Gallery is named for the artist Sidney Nolan, responsible for one of the museum’s most famous artworks, Snake.
MONA also provides complete on-site catering, and can create unique menus to meet your needs.
The Old Farm
If you’re looking for a rustic-styled wedding, this venue ticks all the boxes! Enjoy views of the coastline while being surrounded by farmland at this 100-acre property on Safety Cove, Port Arthur.
The reception room is highlighted by exposed beams and brick walls, and is lit up at night by festoon and pendant lighting.
It’s the perfect canvas for our table linen hire experts to begin creating a customised table setting that suits your taste and perfectly matches your colour scheme.
Working with the incredibly talented Bek from Bek Burrows Styling + Events, we’ll create a setting styled to perfection.
Rustic wedding styling
Minimalist rustic has been a popular wedding trend for the last few years, and The Old Farm is an ideal venue that will help you bring this theme to life.
Imagine candles sitting in votives and candlesticks of all different heights and sizes, set on tables filled with lush greens and eye-catching florals…
Located just outside of Swansea on the east coast of the island, Piermont Retreat is about two hours from Hobart.
Family-run for more than two decades, Piermont is the perfect coastal setting – unspoiled water views across Great Oyster Bay transports guests to truly serene setting to celebrate with their loved ones.
Set amongst rugged wilderness, Piermont offers 15 guest cottages, each built sustainably with natural materials.
Piermont’s restaurant, Homestead, is known for its fresh seafood, local produce, and creative menus.
Coastal or seaside wedding inspiration
A sea-inspired colour palette filled with neutral shades and soft colours, such as crisp white and sky blue, or tan and ivory will bring your coastal theme to life.
More great inspiration can be found in this blog post, where we travel to the beach and even to the Medeterranean with crisp, bright, and clean styling.
For an elegant take on a country wedding, you can’t go past Clarendon House. One of Australia’s grandest houses, Clarendon is a part of Australia’s National Trust.
The three-storey Georgian-style home was built in 1838 by convicts and is set on the banks of the South Esk River, about 30 mins south of Launceston.
Elegant and bold
For an elegant and bold wedding style, Clarendon house is the perfect backdrop.
Its moody yet charming rooms transport guests back to the 1800s, while tables adorned with vivid florals make a statement.
Want to show off gorgeous wooden tables? A table runner down the centre not only lets you display natural timber, but also helps dictate how your everything that sits on your table should be arranged, from crockery and glassware to flowers, candles, and other centerpieces.
